Ermanno is a young man who spends his days between slot machines and petty theft. Lena arrives in Italy from Poland, planning to sell the child she is carrying in order to start a new life. Ermanno must pretend to be the father so that his uncle and aunt, who cannot have children, can obtain custody through a family adoption. While waiting for the baby to be born, an unexpected bond grows between the two young people.

CARLO SIRONI is an Italian director and screenwriter. His feature debut Sole (2019) premiered at the Venice Film Festival and won the FIPRESCI Prize at the European Film Awards. He previously directed several short films selected at international festivals. His second feature is Quell’estate con Irène (2024).
