Luigi Comencini, “La finestra sul Luna Park” (1957, 90’)

14 december 2025
Screening with introduction by Francesca Comencini

An industrial worker returns from Africa after several years to find his wife dead and a son who no longer recognises him. The child, raised with another father figure (his mother’s suitor), rejects the man who has come back for him. The film portrays the challenge of rebuilding a genuine bond, the solitude and emotional distance between generations, and the clash of affections. Through its story, it reveals an intense family drama set in Rome’s outskirts and closely tied to the social conditions of the post-war period.
