Rome, 1867. At the height of the Church’s temporal power, a judge of the Tribunal of the Sacred Consulta discovers that a young revolutionary sentenced to death may be his son, born years earlier from a secret relationship. Torn between his institutional role and personal drama, the man confronts the hypocrisy, rigidity, and contradictions of clerical power. An ironic and bitter work that uses history to expose the authoritarianism and absurdity of absolute power.
