Mastequoia presents the first live performance of Bagatelle per Tre Sarcofagi, Op. 24, a composition for electroacoustic instrumentation in collaboration with Giordano Boetti Editions. Three cabinets, different in design, materials, and finish, are installed in the exhibition space, housing the instrumentation. The performers enter them, entomb themselves inside. The voices emerging from the cabinets alternate and overlap in the musical form of the bagatelle, an extemporaneous composition characterized by brevity and by the simplicity of its structure and sonic expression. The composition unfolds in phrases marked by pauses and restarts, changes in intensity, pianissimo/fortissimo, densities and rarefactions, offering a listening experience as if from within a sarcophagus, an evocation of the passage of state from individual unity to gas, liquids, and dust of the departed host.
The event will take place in the first-floor room dedicated to UNAROMA LIVE.
Free admission until capacity is reached.
