Phaim is a young Muslim man of Bengali origin, born and raised in Rome, caught between his family’s cultural traditions and Western romantic life. When he falls in love with Asia, he must navigate religious rules, desire, and personal identity. With an ironic and autobiographical tone, the film explores the tension between tradition and integration, addressing themes of love, faith, sexuality, and belonging with lightness and sincerity in a multicultural Rome.
