Roberto Rossellini, “Paisan” (1946, 125’)

25 april 2026
Screening

Structured in six episodes set across Italy during the Allied advance, Paisan portrays encounters between foreign soldiers and civilians in a country devastated by war. With a stark style and a strong grounding in real locations and non-professional actors, Roberto Rossellini created one of the key works of Italian neorealism, where the fragmented narrative reflects the human and linguistic complexity of postwar Italy.
