La notte era una splendida canna di giunco

21 may 2026 ore 19:00
Reading by Sonia Bergamasco and lecture by Andrea Cortellessa in dialogue with the exhibition "Un canto nel suo spazio" dedicated to Amelia Rosselli
In dialogue with the exhibition dedicated to Amelia Rosselli, the event La notte era una splendida canna di giunco – its title drawn from a poem in the collection Documento (written between 1966 and 1973 and published by Garzanti in 1976) – brings together Sonia Bergamasco, actress, director, and long-time interpreter of Rosselli’s work, including the CD Variazioni(Luca Sossella Editore, 2014), and Andrea Cortellessa, literary critic, historian of literature, and curator of the exhibition Un canto nel suo spazio, for an encounter that intertwines listening, critical reflection, and reading, placing at its center the vocal and embodied dimension of Amelia Rosselli's poetry.

Andrea Cortellessa will reflect on the central aspects of Rosselli’s research, outlining the context of a poetry that takes shape as an acoustic event, traversing languages, forms, and registers. At the heart of the evening is the reading by Sonia Bergamasco, who gives body and voice to Rosselli’s texts in a new performance. Her reading stands both in continuity with and in divergence from the archival voice, reactivating the performative dimension of the poetry.

Throughout the event, a selection of recordings of Amelia Rosselli’s voice will be presented, drawn from Con l’ascia dietro le spalle. Dieci anni senza Amelia Rosselli, a programme produced by RAI Radio 3 in 2006 to mark the tenth anniversary of the poet’s death. Presented thanks to the collaboration with RAI Radio 3, these recordings restore the force of Rosselli’s vocal presence through poetry readings and fragments of conversation, revealing the profound relationship between writing, rhythm, and listening.

The event will take place in the Auditorium.
Free admission until capacity is reached.
