Pier Paolo Pasolini, “Accattone” (1961, 117’)

25 january 2026
Screening of the feature film, with Claudio Giovannesi in attendance

Pasolinis first feature film, Accattone portrays the life of a pimp from Romes outskirts, suspended between misery, sacrality, and fate. The peripheral city becomes the stage for an archaic tragedy, in which the subproletariat takes on an epic and poetic dimension.

CLAUDIO GIOVANNESI is an Italian director and screenwriter. With films such as Fiore and Piranhas, he has portrayed adolescence and the social margins of Rome, earning major international recognition. His cinema is marked by an empathetic and realistic gaze toward territories and communities.
