With Chi ha paura di Patrizia Vicinelli, the ARRHYTHMICS section of the museum continues its focus on the importance of linguistic and poetic experimentation. The first institutional exhibition ever held on the work of the poet, Patrizia Vicinelli, offers an overview of this sensitive, restless personality who came to terms–in a context of forceful artistic and political activism–with the italian literary neo-avant-gardes, from Gruppo 63 to Emilio Villa and Aldo Braibanti, and with central figures from the italian experimental cinema scene of the 1970s, like Alberto Grifi, Gianni Castagnoli, Mario Gianni.
In the exhibition space, Vicinelli’s voice becomes a constant interference, alongside the display of the various constituent facets of her language: from graphic approaches to her research on gesture and performance, ascribing a fundamental importance to the human body. Always provocative and deconstructed, her polyglot writing, composed of anomalous graphic and typographic characters, displays an expressionistic dynamism capable of underscoring the historic changes that took place across the years of the poet’s short lifetime.
