Until 22 April 2024
#Workshop

The Department for Preventive Education of MACRO launches a special edition of the educational programme Lab for New Imaginations

A series of in-person meetings will be distributed across two weeks, targeting emerging visual and sound artists, curators, designers, researchers and writers based in Italy.

The programme is designed to provide opportunities for emerging practitioners from different disciplinary backgrounds. It offers a chance to collaborate in the generation of new ideas, contents and projects by encouraging self-organization processes aimed at the realization of a collective editorial output.

This year’s output will be the planning and organization of a workshop or a discursive nature participated event within the museum’s programming in September. For this, the new edition of the Lab will be in close dialogue with the Department for Preventive Education, the curatorial/editorial office of MACRO and some participants from previous editions. It will also focus on exploring methods and strategies for working in groups.

During the two weeks of the workshop, participants will be able to access the MACRO’s spaces (classrooms, meeting room and library) in order to work in groups throughout the museum’s opening hours.

Following the two-weeks workshop, tutoring meetings on the collective project will be scheduled with the various departments of the museum.

The Lab for New Imaginations will take place from 4 June to 15 June 2024. A minimum of 3 days in September will also be required for the event to be realized.
