OPEN CALL
From Foot to Head
Workshop curated by Nicola Pecoraro

6 and 7 May 2022
#Workshop

From Foot to Head, a two-day workshop curated by Nicola Pecoraro and dedicated to the multifaceted figure of Cinzia Ruggeri, was born out of the collaboration between NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti and the Department for Preventive Education of MACRO.

The participants, selected through an open call, will have the opportunity to learn more about Cinzia Ruggeri’s teaching methodology. A guided tour of the exhibition will offer students an immersive experience in which the words of the artist will be quoted and then developed into a visual narrative.

An integral part of this process will be the talk Sogni cuciti a mano, taking place on 4 May, in which Mariuccia Casadio, Nicoletta Morozzi and Nicola Pecoraro will share insights on the figure of Cinzia Ruggeri, focusing on her artistic and pedagogical practice.

From Foot to Head will be held in the Department for Preventive Imagination’s space on:

  • Friday 6 May from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm
  • Saturday 7 May from 10.00 pm to 5.00 pm

There is no fee to participate to the open call, which is open to all undergraduate or postgraduate students, and recent graduates from Fine Arts School and Universities in Italy and/or abroad.

To submit your application for the open call, please send an email to edu@museomacro.it, with the following material:

  • a short biography (max 500 characters)
  • A re-proposition in a narrative and/or visual key of the request that Cinzia Ruggeri used to propose to her students: “to think of a possible imprint that encloses the personality of one’s alter ego”.

Please send your application by 1 pm on 26 April 2022 using as the subject line of the e-mail “APPLICATION FROM FOOT TO HEAD”.  Selected participants will be notified by 30 April.

The workshop will be held in Italian.
The activity is free of charge.
