Experimental Jetset is an Amsterdam-based graphic design studio, founded in 1997 by Marieke Stolk, Erwin Brinkers and Danny van den Dungen, on view at MACRO with the exhibition AUTONOMIARTEPOVERARCHIZOOMEMPHISUPERSTUDIOPERAISMO (20 September 2023 – 18 February 2024). Its work focuses mainly on printed matter and site-specific installations, employing a methodology aimed at “transforming language into objects”, whilst viewing graphic design as a platform for “authorship”. The following is a playlist with ten songs selected from Experimental Jetset that highlight the role that musical subcultures have played on its research: from Helter Skelter by the Beatles to Summertime by the Zombies.

This new episode of Dispatch comes out on the occasion of the #Giornatadelcontemporaneo organized by AMACI — Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums.

I invited Nicola Pecoraro, artist and creator of my avatar, to curate this special episode.
