WOLFGANG STOERCHLE
ZIP #3 + #4
1968

Ahead of artist Wolfgang Stoerchle inaugurating the museum’s ARRHYTHMICS section this spring, editor and curator Alice Dusapin shares her WANTED brief of two works by the artist which are missing as of yet. The below for the first time published images are the sole proof of their existence.

Zip #3 and Zip #4 are both early bronze pieces made by Wolfgang Stoerchle in 1968 and exhibited for his bachelor degree show at the Contemporary Art Foundation in Oklahoma City. Those photographs come from a film discovered in Karen Couch Wieder’s archive in Norman, Oklahoma in October 2017 and have been developed for the first time in the following days. While being a fantastic disclosure they are particularly precious because those sculptures remain to be found.
