ROMA CAPODARTE 2022

On 1 January 2022 MACRO will be open from 4 pm to 10 pm, free of charge, as part of the cultural programme for New Year’s Day of the Municipality of Rome, Capodarte.

The museum’s guest spokesman for this day will be Carlo Antonelli, journalist, artistic director, author and producer. At 6 pm he will conduct an unconventional visit, sharing his personal interpretation of the contents on view in the various section-columns of the museum.

At 5 pm the Department for Preventive Education has organized a special free educational visit in the series MACRO Kids and Families, in collaboration with Senza Titolo, which combines a guided visit for adults with an entertaining tour for children, allowing them to actively explore the spaces and the architecture, delving into the languages of contemporary art through the creations of artists and their work, to start the new year immersed in the imagination of the museum and its stories. (The visit is open to a maximum group of 20 people, by reservation only at info@senzatitolo.net)

Besides the eight current exhibitions, for New Year’s Day MACRO presents a video marathon dedicated to some of the artists who have taken part in the programme of Museum for Preventive Imagination over the past months. MEET THE ARTIST is the title of the series of interviews with artists, which from the digital spaces of the museum will enter its physical confines for a non-stop screening inside the Auditorium, alternating the voices of some of the protagonists of the museum’s offerings. From the artists of RETROFUTURO – the section that presents an overview of young art in Italy, in relation to the museum’s collection – to other figures of Italian and international art who have been featured in the other sections of the museum – examining different contemporary languages, updated over time, like the columns in a living magazine – including Giulia Crispiani, Rä Di Martino, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Alice Dusapin, Philipp Fleischmann, Phanos Kyriacou, Marcello Maloberti, Franco Mazzucchelli, Fabio Quaranta, Sarah Rapson, Peter Rehberg, a.k.a Pita, Franca Sacchi, SAGG NAPOLI, Giovanna Silva, Luca Trevisani, Sophie Tun, Vega, Luca Vitone, Eduardo Williams. (Access to the screening will be permitted exclusively to those in possession of a Green Pass obtained as a result of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19)
