#Retrofuture

SAGG NAPOLI joins the RETROFUTURE section, the collection of works by young Italian artists growing organically with time.

The site-specific graffiti work made by SAGG NAPOLI is based on the artist’s current research on the Taranta AM I INTUITIVE OR AM I PARANOID (2020).

SAGG NAPOLI is an ongoing partially autobiographical research project by Sofia Ginevra Gianní (Naples, 1991), which takes Naples as a starting point to map the southern Mediterranean and its stereotypes. She produces moving images on the threshold of reality and fiction, shot with her telephone and distributed via her Instagram account (@sagg_napoli). Selected solo exhibitions include: SAGG SCOPA FAT: Lezioni d’Italiano, Fioriucci Art Trust (2020); Pride and Prejudice: new practices of dignity, Museum of Modern Art Warsaw, Poland (2018); Fake Things are Flamable: – e cos favz s’appiccn, Like a little disaster, Polignano a Mare (2018). She has taken part in group exhibitions at: Herald Street Gallery, London; Galleria Spazia, Bologna (2020); Sophie Tappeiner, Vienna (2019); Eaton Workshop, Hong Kong (2019).
