Inaugurating the MEET THE ARTIST series, the photographer and founder of Humboldt Books Giovanna Silva speaks about her practice and process. Her work re-presenting and re-interpreting the MACRO deposit and collections of the Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Roma Capitale is exhibited in the museum’s RETROFUTURO section.

Printed on a large wallpaper, the images of the collections in the storerooms cover the entirety of the walls of the room. They therefore become the backdrop and context for new works by young Italian artists, which will gradually occupy the space over a three-year span — a collection in fieri, growing organically with time.

I invited Nicola Pecoraro, artist and creator of my avatar, to curate this special episode.
