From 10 January 2022 and until the end of the state of emergency, access will be allowed only to visitors in possession of the green COVID-19 certification obtained after completing the vaccination or recovery cycle. It is not required for children under 12 years old.

Access to screenings in the cinema hall pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 221 of 24/12/2021 until the end of the state of epidemiological emergency from COVID-19, is allowed only to subjects in possession of COVID-19 green certification obtained from completion of the vaccination cycle or recovery (cd. “Green Pass Rafforzato”) and FFP2 mask.

Body temperature will be measured at the entrance. Access to the museum will not be permitted if the temperature is equal to or greater than 37.5°C.

It is mandatory to use the mask throughout the visit.

From Piazza dei Cinquecento (in front of the train station), take the bus line number 90 (towards Labia) for 3 stops and get off at the stop Nomentana/Regina Margherita, otherwise take the bus line number 38 (towards Porta di Roma) for 6 stops and get off at the bus stop Nizza / Regina Margherita.


The MACRO building and its spaces are accessible to all. During opening hours, the entrance is guarded by our staff who are present to welcome visitors, assist them, and facilitate entering the museum and its exhibition spaces.

An underground parking is available and open every day, 24 hours a day, accessible via a ramp in Via Cagliari 31.

The elevators operate from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 am to 7 pm, on Saturday from 11 am to 10 pm. When the elevators are not operating, please use the stairs in Via Nizza 138 (inserting your parking ticket into the optical reader), or buzz on the intercom on Via Nizza 138. To exit the car park please use the stairs or buzz the emergency call system located by the elevators on Level – 1. 

Garage fees:

  • €3 per hour or part thereof for the first three hours of parking.
  • €2 per hour or part thereof after the first three hours of parking.

The MACRO parking garage has three spaces reserved for visitors with disabilities. In the area preceding the entrance barrier to the MACRO garage there are three parking spots reserved for disabled visitors, free of charge for three hours. If all three parking spots are taken, a reduced tariff will be applied at €2 per hour (instead of €3 per hour). The museum’s ground floor, first floor (where the café is located), and second floor (where the restaurant is located) can be accessed from the underground parking with an elevator.
