EXHIBITION PROGRAMME 2024



Museum for Preventive Imagination will continue throughout 2024 to give form to the programming of MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome.

 

Opening the programme on 9 February were the exhibitions 25 Years of Always Stress with BLESS by the Paris-Berlin duo BLESS, and Triviale by the Rome-based French artist Pauline Curnier Jardin, together with the Feel Good Cooperative, as well as new projects by Michela de Mattei, Chiara Enzo, Sara Leghissa and Gabriele Silli for Retrofuture, the exhibition in progress for three years through which to envision the future collection of the museum with young Italian artists.

 

The exhibitions opening on 21 March are HYbr:ID by artist and musician Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto, Una casa ontologica by artist and designer Luigi Serafini, Cosmogonie, dedicated to artist Laura Grisi and Accelerazione, dedicated to graphic designer, cartoonist and musician Stefano Tamburini.

 

A large solo show on Elisabetta Benassi opens on May 9 and, starting on May 30, monographic exhibitions will also be dedicated to two women with ties to Rome, poet Patrizia Cavalli and artist Marcia Hafif who spent long periods of time in the city during the 1960s.

 

The large solo show for the upcoming season, on the artist Elisabetta Benassi, will open on 9 May. Starting on 30 May, the museum presents monographic exhibitions on two other women with ties to Rome, the poet Patrizia Cavalli and the Californian artist who has spent long periods of time in the city, Marcia Hafif.

The second half of the year will feature various different initiatives culminating with Post Scriptum. Un museo dimenticato a memoria (A museum forgotten by heart), a group exhibition that serves as an epilogue to the Museum for Preventive Imagination: a special edition of the museum-magazine will spread throughout the spaces of the museum. 

 

The exhibitions are promoted by Assessorato alla Cultura di Roma Capitale and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo.
